WTS Plumbing & Heating Ltd is a family-run mechanical contractor, established in 2008, that installs hot and cold water services, above ground drainage and sanitary plumbing in commercial buildings. Directly Employed Plumbers on Every Project
The water and drainage work on a WTS project is carried out by plumbers on the WTS payroll rather than agency labour. That matters on a commercial job because the same people who set out the first fix are still there for the second fix, the pressure test and the snagging, so nothing is lost between trades and the client has one contact for the whole package. Our site teams work under main contractors and tier-one contractors and are used to permit-to-work systems, RAMS, inductions and daily coordination with the electrical and ventilation packages. WTS is SafeContractor Approved, and our Gas Safe registered engineers connect and commission any gas-fired hot water plant that sits alongside the public health package.
Hot Water Generation & Water Treatment Systems
We size, supply and install hot water plant for offices, hospitality, education and mixed-use buildings: direct gas-fired water heaters, indirect calorifiers fed from the heating circuit, unvented cylinders and point-of-use heaters where a long dead leg would waste water and energy. Storage temperatures, secondary return circulation and outlet temperatures are set so the system limits Legionella risk while thermostatic mixing valves protect users from scalding. Mains water across Surrey is hard, so we fit water softening or scale inhibition where it is needed to protect calorifiers and plate heat exchangers. At Cabot Square and Cannon Street the water treatment package covered filtration and chemical dosing, and at Moonbug, Camden Lock it treated both the new pipework and the existing base build systems.
Drainage Installations & Pumped Systems
WTS installs above ground drainage from the sanitaryware to the point it leaves the building: soil and vent stacks, waste branches, ventilated branch systems and air admittance valves where the layout allows them. Below ground we lay new foul and surface water runs, build inspection chambers and connect to the existing drains or the public sewer. Where gravity will not work, in basements, lower ground kitchens and refurbished buildings where the invert level sits above the outlet, we install packaged pumping stations, sewage lifting stations and macerator units sized for the fixture load. High-rise and deep-plan buildings get the extra design attention their stacks need, with stack venting, offsets and flow control that stops trap seals being pulled. Every system is air or water tested before it is boxed in.
Rainwater Harvesting & Greywater Reuse
Rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling come up on most larger schemes now, partly for BREEAM credits and partly because water is a real running cost for an occupied building. WTS installs rainwater harvesting systems that collect from the roof, filter and store the water in a below ground or plant room tank, and pump it to WCs, urinals, irrigation and wash-down points through a clearly labelled non-potable pipework network. Greywater systems treat water from basins and showers for the same uses, with the treatment plant sized to the number of occupants and the storage the building can accommodate. In both cases we design the mains water back-up, the backflow protection and the pipe labelling so the non-potable system can never cross-connect with the drinking water supply.
Low-Usage & Water-Efficient Fittings
Reducing demand is cheaper than storing and treating water, so we look at the fittings before the plant. Sensor taps and flow-regulated outlets, dual flush or low-volume WCs, waterless or sensor-flushed urinals and leak detection with automatic shut-off all cut consumption without occupants noticing a difference. For fit-outs targeting BREEAM credits, the Part G water efficiency calculation or a landlord's own sustainability targets, we provide the fittings schedule and the calculated litres per person per day that the assessor needs. Our design and modelling team draws the whole package in 3D so clashes with structure and ductwork are sorted on screen rather than on site.
Designed for Water Hygiene and Long Service
Public health systems are judged years after handover, when the landlord's water hygiene contractor takes the first samples. We design out the things that cause trouble later: dead legs, oversized storage that lets water stand, uninsulated cold pipework running warm beside heating mains, and plant that cannot be drained or reached for maintenance. Cold water storage tanks are sized for turnover, fitted with insect screens and set where they can be cleaned. At handover the client receives the O&M manual, as-installed drawings, pressure test certificates and a flushing and disinfection certificate for the new pipework. Our commissioning team can also set up the monitoring regime and return for the periodic checks.

Where a basement, lower ground kitchen or refurbished floor sits below the level of the outgoing drain, WTS installs packaged pumping stations, sewage lifting stations or macerator units sized for the fixtures they serve, with duty and standby pumps, high level alarms and a maintenance access arrangement agreed with the client. We also design the venting and pipe routes so the pumped discharge does not disturb the gravity system it joins.
You receive an O&M manual, as-installed drawings, pressure test certificates for the pipework, a flushing and disinfection certificate for the new water services, commissioning records for hot water plant and pumps, and manufacturer warranties for the equipment fitted. WTS adds its own 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship.
